#1 - the road from the University area to the center; it feels as if you can drive right into the Christ the Savior Cathedral. I took this picture around 6 pm, so it's strange there was no traffic jam: it was Tuesday, not a day off, and Moscow is famous for being hopelessly clogged much of the time. Everyone was on vacation then, perhaps.

#2 - this is why I almost never do captions for my photos: I'm not able to come up with reliable information in most of the cases, and I'm too lazy to bother. Like here: I think this is Malchish-Kibalchish, but why they call him this and what book he is from - I don't remember. And I don't care. Something revolutionary, I'm sure.

#3 and #4 - the building that looks either like Hotel Ukraine or the University is actually the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

#5 - I just thought it looked terrific.

#6, 7 and 8 - This is Novy Arbat. Back in the 1980s, we all thought these were skyscrapers. The last two shots may be vulgar but to me they are not: these two clouds did look like airplanes, and when I saw them, I was just meters away from where I had found out about 9/11 (I had been at a video store then, on my way to the grocery store to buy bread and eggs).
