Children's clinic on Volodymyrska St., across the street from the Golden Gates (Zoloti Vorota). Until a certain age, all kids living in our district are sort of entitled, free of charge, to a doctor from this state-funded clinic. The place is run-down; the ceiling in the room where our doctor and nurse sit needs some painting after a pipe burst and flooded the room - but they are trying so hard to make the clinic look cute and inviting - all the New Year's decorations, and kids' drawings, and paintings on the walls, and toys (some pretty old, I remember them from my own childhood) - and it looks so happy and touching, as long as you don't look up at the ceiling. Doctors are very nice, too, as long as you ignore their beaten-down appearance. Anyway, the place is much better than I expected, even though I wouldn't want to take Marta there too often.
